Family Hotel Amarin and Davorin Flego from Rovinj Winners of the “Zlatna koza” Prize

The annual prize of the Istria County Tourist Board was formally awarded to the best in Istrian tourist marketing Golden Goat – Zlatna koza on 19 December at the Lone Hotel.

The Golden Goat prize was awarded to Željko Kukurin, Management Board President of the Valamar Riviera in Poreč, for his exceptional contribution to the economy of the Istria County and to the development of tourism in 2017. The Briton Robert Oz Clarke, a world renowned wine expert and publicist, author of BBC shows and coverages, who is a special guest at this year’s Vinistra was given the Golden Goat prize for promoting Istria as a wine and tourist destination.

Maistra’s Amarin Family Hotel in Rovinj won the prize for the most innovative tourist product because it encourages its guests, children and parents to play and explore, beginning with the markings on the driveway to the hotel and with further artistic installations at the entrance into the hotel, in the children’s zone with playrooms, children’s science labs, all the way to a multimedia hall for children’s plays and projections.

AHG Handy (Arena Hospitality Group) was awarded as the technological innovation of the year, it is a mobile device which the guests find in their rooms and it enables them to make free phone calls and to have Internet access during their entire stay at the destination, while it also serves as a destination guide and can be used for a two-way communication with the hotel.

The Golden Goat prize for the best tourist product was awarded to the company Idea Istra for their thematic museum House of Istrian Olive Oil (Kuća istarskog maslinovog ulja) and also to the company Istra život for their adrenaline-packed Glavani park. In the best visual marketing category, the prize was awarded to the promotional video of the adventurous Lim Bay Challenge Race. The Sea Star Festival in Umag won the prize for best event.

Special thanks for the life's work of Predrag Spasojević and Renco Kosinožić, who suffered an untimely death, was given posthumously to their families for their long-standing work and exceptional creative contribution to the promotion of Istrian tourism. Special thanks were also given to Jerko Sladoljev, Edi Černjul and Davorin Flego from Rovinj for their contribution to the development of tourism in Istria. Davorin Flego, council member of the Istria County Tourist Board has marked the economy of Rovinj, from Jadran to Valalta, he led the construction projects of the wind power plant near Senj, Butoniga lake, the Istria airport building, the first section of the Istrian Y (highways A8 and A9) and the Lim Bay overpass.
