Itinerary description:

The Limes trail, which is 39 km long, starts and ends in the Amarin tourist resort. The itinerary will take you through Saline, Valalta, Rovinjsko Selo and Porton Biondi. The trail itself is full of natural beauties and passes along a large number of sites that really should be visited.
Once you have passed the Saline Bay, you will certainly be impressed by the ruins of the Church of St. Euphemia. The trail then takes you to the remains of the Church of St. Bartholomew, and then to the ruins of the small church of St. Proto. The second half of the trail also runs past several churches: first St. Martin’s, then St. Mary Magdalene’s, St. Cecilia’s and at the end past St. Cyprian’s.
However, it's not just the churches that are worthy of attention on trail 201: as you clock up the kilometres, you will pass by Haber’s Farm and Rupnjak pond, after the beautiful viewpoint of St. Martin’s on the half of the itinerary as well as the Maklavun archaeological site.
You will be able to spot kažuni (round field shelters, built using the dry stone wall technique) in Rovinjsko Selo as well as the prehistoric fortress of Turnina. All in all, an itinerary that offers a wealth of interesting sites for cycling enthusiasts as well as those who love natural and cultural sights.

Technical characteristics:

Nearly three-quarters of the trail runs on macadam, with smaller parts on dirt road, while the rest is asphalted. We recommend using mountain and trekking bikes, although thanks to its easiness, it can also be crossed using electric bicycles. The surface is mainly composed of small stones or those of medium size but without sharp edges while the level of sliding is quite low. There are two major uphill parts on the trail: the 1.3 km long Monte Cavallo (average of 5.8% slope) and the 0.4 km long St. Martin (20.8% slope) with as many downhill: the 0.4 km long St. Martin (11.3% slope) and the 1 km long Turnina (11.3% slope). At the end of the first half of the trail you will reach a kilometre of single track where the trail width is approximately 0.8 m.
