Diving centres

Diving is one of Rovinj's tourist products and offers that has been developing for many years. Diving fans have the chance to discover the beauty of the underwater world of Rovinj, the richness of a diverse and preserved plant and animal world as well as a multitude of underwater walls and ridges, caves and shipwrecks. Diving in Rovinj and Istria is possible all year round due to pleasant sea temperatures, especially in the period between May and November.  

There are many attractive diving sites in the area, such as the wrecks of a passenger steamer "Baron Gautsch" (sunk in 1914) located at a distance of 9 nautical miles from Rovinj at a depth of 39 meters, a cargo steamer „Hans Schmidt“ (sunk in 1943) 10 nautical miles from Rovinj and at a depth of 40 m, as well as the reefs of the islets of Banjol, Figarola, Šturago, Sv. Ivan and Sv. Ivan na pučini and shallows of Lim, Saline, Rubini, Porer and Sv. Damjan.  

There are four diving centres in Rovinj which, teamed with experienced guides, provide group diving, scuba diving equipment rental services and courses for all levels of experience. Diving centres work closely with tourist companies in the town of Rovinj offering different categories and types of facilities for quality vacation and package arrangements for beginners and recreational divers in various diving areas.
