Annual flat-rate tourist tax for 2026

We hereby inform you that the Croatian National Tourist Board launched the calculation of the annual flat-rate tourist tax for 2026 in the eVisitor system on 2 March 2026 for providers of accommodation services in private households.
Pursuant to Article 12 of the Tourist Tax Act (“Official Gazette” No. 52/19, 32/20 and 42/20), persons providing hospitality services in households pay an annual flat-rate tourist tax for each bed (main and extra) and for each accommodation unit in a camp or camping rest area used for providing accommodation services in accordance with the regulations governing hospitality activities.
The annual flat-rate tourist tax is calculated according to the highest total number of active beds during the year, i.e. in the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.
The taxpayer will be charged the full annual flat-rate tourist tax regardless of how long they held a valid decision authorising the provision of services in 2026. Therefore, as before, neither the date of issuance of the decision in the current year nor the period of operation of the lessor during that year affects the annual flat-rate tourist tax amount.
Pursuant to Article 17, paragraph 2 of the Tourist Tax Act (“Official Gazette” No. 52/19, 32/20 and 42/20), the tourist tax may be paid in a single full payment by 31 July of the current year or in three equal instalments: the first due on 31 July, the second on 31 August, and the third on 30 September of the current year. Payment slips are generated from the eVisitor system.
Please note that if you wish to generate a payment slip for the full amount from the eVisitor system, you must enter 30 September 2026 as the due date in order for the full amount to be displayed. If you wish to generate three instalment payment slips, select “Flat rate – 3 payment slips” under the amount type.
The annual flat-rate tourist tax for 2026 for the area of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno has been set at the same amount as last year and amounts to EUR 70.00 per bed (main and extra).
