St. Lawrence Night Lights Up Rovinj

On Saturday, August 8, Rovinj once again glowed in a uniquely romantic atmosphere. The traditional St. Lawrence Night once again brought together the light of candles and torches, music, tradition, and a star-filled sky, offering visitors an unforgettable summer evening.
The unique atmosphere of the historic old town and the town’s waterfront was illuminated by the glow of torches and candles throughout the evening, while switching off the public lighting along the waterfront further enhanced the romantic ambiance.
A rich music program at several locations around the town added to the special atmosphere. The program began with a promenade and a dance performance by members of the Roxanne dance group. From 9 p.m., visitors were entertained by Duo Sugar Notes on Aldo Rismondo Waterfront, Alen Đuras & Irma Dragičević at Marshal Tito Square, Le Cronache at Riviera Square, Vaya con Dinos at Baluota, Duo Gracijan & Davor Terzić on the square in front of St. Euphemia’s Church, and Party Band at Shipyard Square.
An additional visual attraction was provided by the light effects of the Visualia Group, which illuminated the façade of Hotel Adriatic and further contributed to the magic of the evening.
The Batana Ecomuseum – Ekomuzej presented authentic Rovinj culture, flavors, and customs associated with the traditional batana boat, as well as the city’s rich maritime heritage.
As part of the program, a romantic batana boat ride was also held, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Rovinj from the sea, accompanied by the sunset and the appearance of the first stars.
At the Big Pier, visitors could view a photography exhibition by Alessio Sponza dedicated to the atmosphere of Rovinj, the sea, batana boats, and the starry sky during St. Lawrence Night. A special part of the program was the Batana Good Bites House, where traditional fish dishes were prepared and presented, while the sweets house offered traditional Rovinj fijoki, star-shaped cookies, and fritule.
Once again this year, St. Lawrence Night brought together tradition, music, gastronomy, and captivating light displays, creating a unique atmosphere in the streets and squares of Rovinj. The event once again confirmed its place among the city’s signature summer events, offering visitors an evening filled with romance, stars, and authentic Rovinj experiences.
