Free City Tour and Cycling Tour for World Tourism Day
15.9.2026
To mark World Tourism Day, there will be offered two free activities that will showcase the city’s and its surroundings’ cultural, historical and natural heritage in a special way.
The programme, titled Feel the Breeze of Rovinj, includes a free guided city tour on Saturday, 26 September, at 4:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to discover Rovinj’s cultural and historical landmarks through the stories of a local guide. The walking tour will take them through the picturesque streets of the old town, with visits to the Church of St. Euphemia and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, including a tour of the monastery collection, as well as a visit to the Batana Eco-Museum.
A special part of the programme will take place on Casale Street, where a musical performance featuring traditional Rovinj songs, bitinade and arie da nuoto will be presented. At the nearby Osteria Casale tasting venue, visitors will also have the opportunity to sample simple fish dishes, including salted anchovies and other similar local delicacies.
On Sunday, 27 September, at 10:00 a.m., a guided cycling tour around Rovinj will also be organised, intended for everyone who would like to explore the city and its surroundings on two wheels. The relaxed 24-kilometre route will take participants along the Cuvi promenade, through the Villas Rubin tourist resort, the Polari and Veštar campsites, past the archaeological sites of Monkodonja and Mušego, and to the picturesque Cisterna Bay. The return journey to the starting point will lead through the Cuvi area and the Golden Cape Forest Park.
The route is mostly easy and suitable for families. Throughout the ride, participants will be accompanied by a professional guide who will introduce them to the interesting natural and cultural sights along the route.
Participation in both activities is free of charge, but registration is required via the registration form for the World Tourism Day programme.
When registering for the city tour, participants must indicate their preferred tour language – Croatian, Italian, English or German – as well as the number of participants. For the cycling tour, all participants take part at their own responsibility and are required to follow the guide’s instructions. Children under the age of 16 are required to wear a protective helmet.
The Rovinj-Rovigno Tourist Board invites everyone to discover the city from a different perspective – through its streets, traditions, gastronomy, nature and rich cultural heritage.
