The opening of the first medical and therapeutic beach in the Republic of Croatia built within the Hospital of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Prim. Dr. Martin Horvat" in Rovinj will be held on 21 June 2017 at 13:00.

About two million Kuna was invested in this beach, which is the safest for the patients on the Adriatic coast. With the support of the County of Istria, the project was submitted to a tender by the Ministry of Tourism within the Tourism Development Fund, which raised the amount of 800 thousand Kuna, while the remaining amount was provided by the Istria County.

It is an investment in which the Ministry of Tourism, through its Tourism Development Fund, has invested in the Ministry of Health, i.e. public health institutions, which is a proof of the exceptional cooperation of the two ministries in terms of developing infrastructure that will become the basis for the upcoming leap forward in medical tourism.

The realization of this project - the first medical and therapeutic beach on the Adriatic with a high degree of safety - is expected to successfully position the Hospital and the Town of Rovinj in the segment of medical tourism, as a safe destination, completely ready to accommodate people with severe disabilities as well as their families.
