KORRONTZI (Baskenland)
In 2004 begon de zoektocht van de groep Korrontzi naar de aloude muziek van Baskenland. Dit leidde tot de herontdekking van de diatonische trekaccordeon, in het Baskisch 'triki' geheten. Korrontzi wil de Baskische volkscultuur eren en in een nieuw daglicht plaatsen door er muzikale invloeden uit de hele wereld doorheen te laten stromen. Dankzij de onuitputtelijke energie van Agus Biandiarana (vituoos talent op de „trixitixa“), Kika Mora (bas), Ander de Saraxto (slagwerk) en Albert Rodriguez (gitaar en mandoline) zit ieder concert boordevol energie en plezier. De muziek wordt prachtig ingelijst door de twee jonge danseressen, die Baskische feestdansen uitvoeren.

VALENTINA FERRAIUOLO (Italië)
Deze buitengewone percussioniste is een zeldzaam getalenteerde kunstenares, die al talloze malen in Italië en Europa optrad met grote namen als Simon & Garfunkel, Francesco De Gregori en Ambrogio Sparagna. Met klassieke gitaar, cello en accordeon weet ze haar krachtige, heldere stem kracht bij te zetten en dit vult ze nog eens aan met ongelofelijk slagwerk op de Tammorre, een instrument dat symbool staat voor de traditionele Napolitaanse muziek.

GUSTAFI (Istrië, Kroatië)
De band begon in 1990 en heeft al 10 albums uitgegeven. We konden ze live op meer dan 1100 concerten horen spelen. De criticus Sven Semenčić schreef over hun: “ Het geluid van Gustafi is typisch Kroatisch, maar klinkt tegelijk als een volmaakt product van de wereldmuziek.” Bij de optredens van deze beste Kroatische band van de laatste jaren zijn er schijnbaar onmogelijke, maar zeer efficiënte muzikale combinaties te horen.

LUASIBERICA ORKESTRA (Andalusië, Brazilië, Italië, Portugal)
Enkele fantastische talenten afkomstig uit de landen van het Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas hebben een nieuw muzikaal project het licht doen zien: LUASIBERICA ORKESTRA. De creatie is een mix van de geluiden van de mediterraan en Portugal. De kracht van de flamengo, tot leven gebracht door Juan Pinilla (zang) wordt verenigd met de zachte fado van de Portugezen Celina da Piedade (diatonische accordeon) en Ricardo Silva (portugese gitaar), de Braziliaanse ritmes van Gustav Roriz (basgitaar) en het explosieve vioolspel van de Italiaanse Elena Floris. Het resultaat is een muzikaal delirium, een echo van de eclectische en veelgelaagde geest van de Portugees-sprekende wereld en de mediterraan

The "Sete Sois Sete Luas" Festival Enchants All Senses

With her strong and beautiful voice, the Italian singer and talented percussionist Valentina Ferraiuolo enchanted the numerous audience at her concert in Rovinj, held during the 24th edition of the festival „Sete Sois Sete Luas“.Valentina Ferraiuolo is a renowned artist with great talent and energy who has collaborated with many famous artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Francesco De Gregori and Ambrogio Sparagna. At the Rovinj concert she mesmerized the audience not only with her voice but also by drumming on the skins and the plates of Tammorra, the old Italian tambourine and the symbol of traditional Neapolitan music which she performs. Valentina and her band brought the spirit of Southern Italy to the concert, causing everyone in the audience to dance and sing along. Unfortunately, the large audience never got the chance to see the anticipated performance by the Basque band Korrontzi, whose concert was cancelled due to heavy rain and winds.

The second concert night was, undoubtedly, dominated by the Croatian band Gustafi. The magnificent dozen took over the stage and with their energetic performance set the mood and made the audience dance. In return, the spectators didn’t allow them to leave the stage. Gustafi performed vocally and with their instruments to the best of their abilities, proving once again that they are truly a great band – in both quality and the number of their members. The festive atmosphere continued with the performance of the Luasiberica Orchestra, whose members all come from the Sete Sois Sete Luas countries (Andalusia, Brasil, Italy, Portugal). Their music is a blend of the Mediterranean sound and the world of the Portuguese speaking regions, the world which marries the best – the Portuguese Fado music, the Spanish Flamenco, Brazilian rhythms and the volcanic energy of a famous Italian artist’s violin. Their act earned them a standing ovation, while true delirium reigned during their performance of an Italian folk song “Bella Ciao”, which the audience sang together with the Luasiberica Orchestra.
