Again this year Rovinj was the host of the 12th Croatian Summer Salsa Festival, which attracted over three thousand dancers and more than 60 dance instructors to its the squares, streets, beaches, boats and even vineyards
Meer dan 60 dansinstructeurs voor Caraïbische dansen uit de hele wereld, 18 DJ's, 150 uur dansfeesten, 2 grote live concerten en meer dan 3.000 uitgelaten mensen uit de hele wereld in een van de meest levendige stadjes aan de Adria – Rovinj. Een unieke cocktail van gezelligheid, kabbelende zee, dansritmes en de beste party's – en dat bijna twee weken lang.
Het Croatian Summer Salsa Festival in Rovinj is een dansfestijn, waar al twaalf jaar lang gasten uit de hele wereld op af komen. Het overladen programma propvol dansattracties in dit bonte Istrische stadje overtuigt steeds meer mensen te kiezen voor deze actieve invulling van hun vakantie.
Of je nu een ervaren danser bent of een beginner, het festivalprogramma heeft voor iedereen wel wat in petto. Dansliefhebbers kunnen deelnemen aan maar liefst 120 dansworkshops, waar ze kneepjes van het vak kunnen leren van de grootste namen uit de wereld van de salsa en de andere Caraïbische dansen. Voor beginners zonder danservaring is er een hele reeks beginnerscursussen om de eerste dansstapjes binnen enkele dagen onder de knie te krijgen. Verder barst het van de party's op verschillende plekken in de stad, van de Rovinjse stranden en zwembaden tot de prachtige hal van de oude tabaksfabriek Adris en de straten en steegjes van Rovinj. In de bijna twee weken van deze dansodyssee leeft en ademt de stad in het ritme van de salsa. En ook de twaalfde editie van dit evenement heeft de nodige verrassingen in petto!

Three thousand dancers at the 12th Croatian Summer Salsa Festival
Again this year Rovinj was the host of the 12th Croatian Summer Salsa Festival, which attracted over three thousand dancers and more than 60 dance instructors to its the squares, streets, beaches, boats and even vineyards. The visitors, fans of this infectious dance, arrived from all over the world - Dubai, the USA, India as well as countries and cities all over Europe. Over fifty volunteers worked hard to accommodate them and make them feel welcome in Rovinj.
Rovinj confirmed its reputation as the most popular destination for salsa dancers who book their accommodation in hotels, campsites and private apartments in advance, often even a year in advance. Speaking of figures, this year's Salsa Festival brought together more than 60 world-renowned instructors of Caribbean dances, 18 DJs, included 150 hours of partying and held two big concerts. In addition to that, more than 3,000 enthusiastic people / guests from around the world danced during the festival, 120 dance workshops were held by the world's biggest names in the world of salsa. It is not surprising that, after such a reception and organization of the Salsa Festival, we already know that the next will take place from 26 June to 3 July 2017. This information is valuable to the dancers as they plan to come again to Istria and Rovinj, and have an active ‘dance and relax’ vacation filled with good music, parties and an amazing atmosphere.
This year the Tourist Board of Rovinj and Maistra supported the organizers - Salsa Adria Production and Los Mamberos dance club - who have started this fantastic summer story twelve years ago.
