Avond gewijd aan het leven van de vissers van Rovinj, met bekijken van het begin van de bouw van een batana in de open lucht, amusements- en gastroprogramma.

De bewoners van Rovinj weten drommels goed dat ze in een van de mooiste mediterrane steden wonen. Toch worden ze daar extra aan herinnerd tijdens de Avonden van de Visserstradities. Dan wemelt het van het leven langs de kade en op de straten en pleinen
With the aim of showing appreciation and promoting the traditional values and customs of the destination, the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj will this year once again hold its traditional event called Evenings of Fishing Tradition. The event will take place on July 7 and August 31. It celebrates the beginnings of the tradition of building batanas, traditional Rovinj boats, the open-air boatbuilding process and the launching of the boat into the sea. It also presents the customs and skills of Rovinj fishermen and traditional Rovinj songs called bitinade. The entire event is accompanied by a rich culinary, cultural and entertainment program.
In 2007, the event won the title of the most attractive tourist product in the Adriatic in the framework of the Blue Flower national competition run by the Croatian National Tourist Board. The same year, part of the project called A Procession of Batanas with a Dinner at the Spacio brought to the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj the Golden Goat recognition in the category of events offering an authentic and autochthonous destination experience, a recognition given by the Tourist Board of the Istrian County.
Over the years, the people of Rovinj and the numerous visitors to the town (more than 30,000 per day during the summer season), have had an opportunity to witness the open-air process of building and launching the following batanas: Fiamita, Calsanta, Arupina, Liliana; as well as the process of restoring and launching of: Adria, Camaiore and Leonberg. In 2010 and 2011, the Antonietta, the Santa Croce, the Regina, the Antea and the Loreta - batana boats owned by the members of the House of Batana Association used for the purpose of organizing the Processions of batana boats with a dinner at the Spacio, a typical Rovinj wine cellar, were restored and launched into the sea.
The event features a demonstration of fishing skills (repairing and weaving of fishing nets, traps and straw woven bottle covers called damižane, etc.) and traditional customs from the past century, an open-air exhibition organized by the Trani Gallery and the House of Batana Eco Museum. The culinary offer for the numerous visitors gathered at the event venue is prepared by Maistra d.d. and its Adriatic Hotel in cooperation with the House of Batana Association, while the top-quality Rovinj wines and olive oils are supplied by renowned Rovinj wine and olive oil producers.

VOOR DE EERSTE KEER - AVONDEN VAN DE VISSERSTRADITIES
Onze dierbare zee
De bewoners van Rovinj weten drommels goed dat ze in een van de mooiste mediterrane steden wonen. Toch worden ze daar extra aan herinnerd tijdens de Avonden van de Visserstradities. Dan wemelt het van het leven langs de kade en op de straten en pleinen van de stad.
Juist het tonen van oude en tot voor kort bijna vergeten ambachten en vaardigheden, zoals het maken van een vlechtwerk om de flessen en het boeten van vissersnetten maakt Rovinj zo bijzonder en zo anders. Vergeet ook de visserspraatjes bij een goed glas wijn niet. Dit alles is door het Toeristenbureau Rovinj goed in de verf gezet, zodat het ook voor buitenlandse toeristen een bekende trekpleister is geworden. Het project "de Blauwe Bloem" in de stad van St. Eufemia werd in 2007 uitgeroepen tot aantrekkelijkste toeristische product aan de hele Kroatische Adria; het deel van dat project genaamd "Optocht van Batana's met Avonden aan de Spacio" won de "Gouden Geit-Capra d'oro" voor de manifestatie met de meest authentieke en autochtone beleving van een locatie.
Zoals verwacht trok de Avond van de Visserstradities in de stad van de heilige Eufemia ook dit keer grote aantallen liefhebbers van zee, goede muziek en goed eten. In de veelheid aan manifestaties kon iedereen wel wat van zijn gading vinden. Dit 'zee-evenement' begon nog bij daglicht met optredens van het Stadsblaasorkest, de folkloregroep Stjepan Žiža uit Rovinjsko Selo en van cultuurclub Marco Gabin, die er hun bitinade ten gehore brachten (liederen waarin stemmen instrumenten imiteren). Het evenement eindigde laat in de nacht, toen het publiek voor de twee podia nogmaals 'meer, meer' riep. Het was een komen en gaan van topartiesten op de twee podia. Op het centrale podium waren visserskoor Libar en de groep Neno Belan i Fiumensa de hoofdacts, op het intiemere podium op de Grote Pier traden Anelide uit Pula, Vesna Nežić Ružić, Sergio Preden Gatta en het Riccardo Bosazzi Quintet op.
Op het plein Trg Maršala Tita konden er ook documentaire films worden bekeken over Rovinj, die waren opgenomen in 1937 en 1963 en kon je de expositie in particulier museum 'Trani' bekijken.
Een trekker was de tewaterlating van batana "Leonberg", die avond na avond werd opgeknapt op het plateau voor het Museum van de Batana. Batana "Leonberg" is het twaalfde vissersbootje dat onder hoede van de vereniging "Huis van de Batana" is gerenoveerd.
Een feest zonder eten en drinken is geen feest. Voor de delicatessen uit zee werd gezorgd door hotelonderneming Maistra d.d. en de vereniging Huis van de Batana. Wijn- en olijfbouwers uit de streek zorgden voor een goed glas wijn en kwalitatieve olijfolie.
De eerstvolgende en tegelijk laatste Avond van de Visserstradities zal plaatsvinden op 31 augustus. Naast de presentatie van oude vissersambachten zullen er optredens zijn van koor Kampanel en van zanger Tedi Spalato.
