The Rovinj-Rovigno Tourist Board and the City of Rovinj-Rovigno, in cooperation with Smart Sense, have set up a Smart Sense air quality monitoring system at the northern port of San Pelagio.

Air quality monitoring system is a simple plug&play installation whose data are measured in real-time, and shown via display, web, and mobile applications. The system consists of a Smart Sense AirQ measuring station, a modular measuring station design with interchangeable sensing modules, and microclimate sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure). Supported sensory modules are wind speed and direction, precipitation sensor, noise sensor, water level, and electromagnetic radiation. The location of the measuring station will be displayed on Google Maps. The data obtained by the system are validated by the Teaching Institute of Public Health 'Dr. Andrija Štampar'. The establishment of an air quality monitoring system will make public health and environmental data more accessible to the public, and the city of Rovinj will be promoted as an environmentally conscious tourist destination that cares about air quality in its area.
