From 1 January to 30 April 2026, a total of 340,491 overnight stays and 114,095 arrivals were recorded, representing an increase of 4% in overnight stays and 5% in arrivals compared to the same period last year.

The highest number of overnight stays in this period was generated by domestic guests with a 25% share (2% more than in the same period last year), followed by Slovenians with 23% (24% more), Austrians with 14% (2% more), Germans with 10% (10% less), and guests from Serbia with 8% (2% less).

By type of accommodation, most overnight stays were recorded in hotels (66%), followed by private accommodation (15%), campsites (12%), and tourist resorts (4%).

During the extended weekend of the May 1st holidays (30 April – 3 May 2026), 47,775 overnight stays were recorded, which is 23% less than in the same period last year. The main reason for the weaker result is that May 1st fell on a Friday this year, allowing for a standard extended weekend but not for a longer holiday break. Last year, May 1st fell on a Thursday, which, especially for Slovenian guests who also celebrate a public holiday on 27 April, allowed for longer stays of several days or even a full week.

During this period, the highest number of overnight stays was recorded by Slovenians (24%), followed by Austrians (13%), guests from Serbia (13%), domestic guests (11%), and Germans (10%). Almost all facilities were open, except for the Hotel Monte Mulini, which reopens on 14 May after a complete renovation, and the tourist resort Villas Rubin, which opens on 7 May.
