Sete Sois Sete Luas

Delegates from 25 towns and eleven Mediterranean countries stayed in Rovinj May 4th-6th, 2012 on the occasion of the 11th conference of the member towns and institutions of the Cultural Network of the Sete Sóis Sete Luas festival. Delegates have taken this opportunity to exchange experiences related to the itinerant festival, which is about to mark its 20th anniversary. The Sete Sóis Sete Luas festival is a platform for cultural and artistic exchange and throughout the year events take place in different Mediterranean countries gathering artists performing traditional music of Portugal, Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, France, Tuscany, Sicily, Greece, Israel and Morocco. The delegation that arrived to Rovinj consisted of mayors, heads of cultural departments and Capo Verde"s Ambassador to Italy Mr Jose Eduardo Barbosa.
The delegation was welcomed at the Town Hall by town officials including Deputy Mayor Marino Budicin, Istria County Deputy Prefect Viviana Benussi, Head of Department Martina Čekić Hek and Director of Rovinj Tourist Board, the main organizer of the Rovinj events, Odete Sapač. After the official event the participants were taken on a tour of Rovinj and its cultural and historic sights and a visit to Motovun, Livade and Grožnjan was organized. The entertainment program included live performances by the Batana, Gustafi and Franko Krajcar & Indivia bands.
The 5th Sete Sóis Sete Luas in Rovinj will be held July 19th – 21st at the Town Square.
