Refurbished Boutique Hotel Adriatic Opens Its Doors

After a six-month renovation the Boutique Hotel Adriatic reopens its doors. The Hotel Adriatic is the latest luxury addition to Istrian tourism, and also this year’s largest Maistra’s investment, worth 30 million HRK. The building of the hundred-year-old Hotel Adriatic is one of the most recognizable facades in Rovinj and is of great importance to the town"s identity. The building"s front has kept its authentic look from 1913, while thorough renovations of the interior have increased the Hotel"s surface area and reduced the number of existing accommodation units from 27 to 18, thus increasing the quality of accommodation and service. The Hotel"s interior is dominated by artwork of local and regional artists. The ground floor of the Hotel is occupied by the À La Carte Restaurant Brasserie Adriatic with a selection of dishes inspired by the French Riviera and a Bar with the largest selection of whisky in Croatia. The new Boutique Hotel is home to an impressive and unique collection of over hundred artworks especially created for this Hotel by artists such as Abdelkader Benchamma, Jasmina Cibic, Igor Eškinja, Chris Goennawein, Kristina Lenard, Federico Luger, Charles Munka, Goran Petercol, Valentin Ruhry, Sofija Silvia, Saša Šekoranja, Massimo Uberti, Zlatan Vehabović and Žižić/Kožul. These are internationally acclaimed artists whose artwork was exhibited at and bought for prestigious museums, foundations and collections all over the world (Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation in Milan, MAXXI in Rome, Museum Moderner Kunst in Vienna, Vehbi Koç Foundation in Istanbul, Drawing Center and PS1 in New York, Lauba House in Zagreb, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka…). The architectural firm Studio 3LHD was responsible for the project, and the Hotel’s interior was designed by Studio Franić/Šekoranja and 3LHD and the art curator Vanja Žanko. The graphic designer Lana Cavar took care of the Hotel"s visual identity, while the staff uniforms were created by the designers of the I-gle Studio.
