For the first time in the history of the Metropolitan Opera, an original French version is performed in five acts of Verdi’s epic opera about failed love at court, against the backdrop of the Spanish Inquisition. For David McVicar, this is the eleventh production for MET, and Nézet-Séguin has gathered the opera stars for this new line-up of "Don Carlos".
