33rd Rovinj wine exhibition / 21st Exhibition of olive oils of Rovinj region / 10th Istrian supa festival
Traditional exhibition and tasting of wines and olive oils made by Rovinj producers and presentation and demonstration of Istrian supa. The exhibition is actually a competition where the best wines of professional winemakers, amateurs winemakers and the best olive oils are graded.
The events in Rovinjsko Selo cherish the tradition of farmers, olive growers and winemakers of Rovinj and in this way emphasize the importance of preserving and raising the quality of the fruits of labor and effort from this area. Antonja is an opportunity to bring products closer to a wider audience of Rovinj and Istria and to all lovers of traditional gastronomy, lovers of Istrian wines and olive oils. The Agrorovinj association will also present the results of the evaluation of this year's wine and olive oil samples, which have passed all physico-chemical and sensory analyses.
On Friday, the Istrian supa festival will be held starting at 6 p.m. Visitors will be able to taste supas prepared on site. By purchasing a bucaleta for tasting Istrian supa, visitors can take home a special souvenir from the event. "As for the supa making competition, the preparation of traditional and creative Istrian supa will be judged. A total of 10 registered teams are participating, and the "best company" will be judged, which in previous years was actually the award for "the best decorated stand", and "the best supa chosen by the audience", said the president of the Agrorovinj association, Kristijan Damijanić. On Saturday, the traditional, oldest wine exhibition in Croatia, the 33rd Antonja, as well as the 21st olive oil exhibition, takes place. This year were submitted a total of 43 samples of wine, which will be judged in the category of professional producers and in the category of hobbyist producers, and a total of 63 samples of olive oil. The interesting thing is that this event is also one of the pioneers in Croatia that introduced the tasting and presentation of ecological and biodynamic wines.
Both Friday and Saturday, the official program through tastings of Istrian supas, wines and olive oils starts at 6 p.m. On Friday at 8:30 p.m., the winner of the 10th Istrian supa festival will be announced, and on Saturday at 7 p.m., awards and prizes for the best wines and olive oils of Rovinj will be handed out.
The entertainment program starts with music and fun from 10 p.m., on Friday with DJ Kriza and EL Duo Luka & Eleonora. Lucky Band and Mauro Staraj & La Banda are responsible for the entertainment part of the program on Saturday.
