Martinmas without a wallet

At the City market (next to the café Grota), a celebration of Martinmas without a wallet will be held. This special event celebrates the centuries-old tradition of Martinmas, marking the transformation of must into young wine, accompanied by joy, festivity, and togetherness.

The Martinmas celebration has always been a time for gathering and honoring the abundance and hard work of our winemakers, and this year’s event will be no exception. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste for free the young wines of the 2025 harvest, proudly presented by the dedicated members of the Agrorovinj Association and Grota Winery. These wines symbolize love for the land and vineyards, with every drop telling the story of our Istrians—their perseverance and craftsmanship.

In addition to enjoying top-quality wines, the students of the Eugen Kumičić Vocational School Rovinj-Rovigno and members of the Rovinj-Rovigno Hunting Association will take care of the complete gastronomic experience. With the support of their teachers, they will prepare food that highlights the importance of connecting young people with our culinary and oenological heritage. Their presence will further enrich the experience and create the true atmosphere of celebration.
