Kultfestival - Brazilian show on the waterfront in Rovinj
Presentation of different musical cultures of the world, with the presentation of cultural and tourist offer of the city of Rovinj
###
On the second evening of Kultfest, the town's waterfront hosted the musicians and dancers from Brazil, known as the group Afoxe Loni.
The visitors were thrilled with their energetic performance both in their musical and dance expression, and swayed in the rhythm of passionate and exotic rhythms of „hot“ Brazil. Attractive dancers' costumes were a special pleasure to the eye, while the sound of powerful drums did not leave anyone indifferent.
The entire happening in Rovinj largely resembled the crazy period of carnival and dancing in the capital of this South-American state.
The group Afoxe Loni was founded in 1997, this being initiated by the choreographer Murah Soares and two musicians - Krista Zeibig and Dudu Tocci. It was founded as part of the great Carnival of cultures from Berlin, and today it gathers more than 200 members, of which about fifteen of them regularly perform all over the world.
It is also worth mentioning that the roots of this specific music originate from Brazilian province Bahia, where people used to play drums on the streets so as to spiritually purify the city before the carnival.
The performances by Afoxe Loni take place throughout many European cities and beside their exceptional attractiveness and high-quality sound, they also represent the cultural phenomenon of South America.
