After they handing out four thousand young rose hip shoots, jujube and fig tree seedlings back in March of this year, the Tourist Board once again decided to make the citizens of Rovinj happy by handing out several different types of flower seedlings as well.
This time they distributed as many as one thousand seasonal flowers in front of the Tourist Board’s building and five hundred perennials – verbena, lavender, sage, geraniums, santolina, calibrachoa, daisies...
People waited for flower seedlings for over 40 minutes knowing that distribution was officially announced to begin at 11 am. All flowers were handed out in just a few minutes. The people of Rovinj will use these flowers to decorate their balconies and gardens, just as they have in previous years.
Members of the Tourist Board also handed out white daisies and shiny, round marigolds to children attending Vladimir Nazor Primary School in Mondelac. Grade one and two students, under the watchful eyes of their teachers, were overjoyed to take gardening forks and shovels into their hands in order to plant their flowers in front of the school.
Each child was also awarded for their efforts and given a copy of the book «Little Postman» written by author Ljuban Maricic.
Members of the Tourist Board will also visit and distribute flowers to children in Rovinj's day care centers «Neven» and «Naridola».
