Zahvaljujući Turističkoj zajednici grada Rovinja, i ove je godine, u drugoj polovici kolovoza organizirana Rovinjska noć, manifestacija kojom se, domaćini zahvaljuju gostima na ukazanom povjerenju i njihovom boravku u gradu svete Eufemije
Rovinj's Night is a traditional annual event organized by the Tourist Board for the last 50 years. An attractive program has once more been prepared for the citizens of Rovinj and their guests – a musical oasis for all music lovers, with numerous concerts at various locations. Rovinj’s Night will start at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 21, with the concert by the local Master Band at the main town square at 9 p.m., followed by the popular local band Jonathan.
Even though they were formed in 2011, Jonathan is only recently becoming more and more popular, owing to its skilled members: the vocalist Zoran Badurina comes from the disbanded Saliona, the drummer Branko Kovačić has over a decade of experience in Let 3 and was the rhythmic engine of Mlat and Saliona, Darko Petković on the guitar and Nikica Jurjević on the bass are legends of the punk scene in Rijeka, as is their band Pasi, while Tomislav Radinović is known for revitalizing the sound of Mandrili, where he is still the guitar player. They have issued two albums – “Bliss” in 2014 and “Getting Closer Is Keeping Us Apart” in 2015. The band has played on many stages in Croatia and neighboring countries. Their songs “Maggie” and “Mama I’m Ready” have enchanted the Croatian public and all are eager to hear how Jonathan sounds live.
The bands Music (K)nights and Double Dose will perform at the Riviera Square at 9 p.m.
The following day, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, will start with the parade of Rovinj Brass Band and Rovinj Majorettes in the streets and on the boardwalk of Rovinj. The local band Le Monde will play at the Maršal Tito Square, while from 10 p.m the guest of the evening, Željko Joksimović, will be responsible for a special performance of his hits. The singer has seduced the female part of the audience with his 2012 Eurovision song “Nije ljubav stvar” and his previous hit “Ima nešto u tome što me nećeš”. He’s also the author of Eurovision hits “Lejla” and “Oro”. For the past year we have watched him on our silver screens in the popular show X Factor Adria where he was a member of the jury. Joksimović is an excellent composer, proficient with several instruments, a Eurovision star, and a composer of music for film and TV.
The Rovinj Party Band and Dream Project will entertain the visitors at the Riviera Square from 9 p.m.
Fireworks will light up the sky during a traditional 20-minute show after midnight, and the party will last long into the night.
Many culinary delights await the visitors during the two-day event, prepared by the company Maistra and the House of Batana, while superior Rovinj wine and olive oil will be provided by the renowned winemakers from the Agrorovinj Association.
The patron of the event is the Town of Rovinj, while Zagrebačka banka is the sponsor for the third year in a row.
