Sandi Mužina also contributed to the celebration of the biggest festivity on the Adriatic coast, the famous Rovinj Night. Especially for this occasion, the well known Rovinj marathon runner ran the distance between Pazin and Rovinj (40 km) in less than four hours. His friend Kristijan Sponza followed him by car, while the rest of his friends, most of them members of the Speed Tribe Motor Club waited at the Obrada, and cheered him with the sound of sirens all the way to the finish line by the Delfin swimming pool. Mužina, who seemed hardly exhausted at all, said that this was his ninth marathon in honor of the Rovinj Night, and that he was preparing something special for the upcoming, jubilar Rovinj Night festivity.

The success of Sandi Mužina was only one in a series of attractive sporting events organized as part of the Rovinj Night festivities. A cruiser regatta was organized in the Rovinj aquatorium in the morning, while the afternoon was reserved for the Istrian County open short distance swimming competition organized at the Delfin swimming pool.

Professional sportsmen weren’t the only ones who could enjoy such thrilling sporting events. The animators of the Maistra Tourist Agency organized similar events for sport amateurs as well. Besides rope pulling, the most exhilarating moment was the competition in carrying fish crates. It attracted an enviable number of competitors and viewers among both the local people and tourists gathered at the town’s waterfront.
