A three-time Grammy nominee in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category, Tierney Sutton is often described as a “favorite singer among musicians” who uses her voice as an instrument. She has led the Tierney Sutton Band for over 19 years, where she has her starry partners: pianist Christian Jacob, drummer Ray Brinker and bassists Kevin Axt and Trey Henry.

The band stands out in the crowd with both its music and its business style: the band members are joined in a partnership and make all their musical and business decisions as such. Their CDs are have consistently been on the top of American jazz radio charts. Jazzweek has pronounced Tierney vocalist of the year, she has received a vocalist award from the LA Jazz Society, and has been on the top of charts, chosen by both critics and audiences. In addition to working with her own band, Tierney performs in an intimate trio with the legendary jazz flutist Hubert Laws and guitar virtuoso Larry Koonse. She has also begun to cooperate with the award-winning quartet Turtle Island.
