It should be pointed out the Sete Sòis Sete Luas Festival (Seven Suns, Seven Moons) is being held for the fourth year in a row, thanks to the Rovinj Tourist Board and donations by the County of Istria and the Town of Rovinj. It takes place at the town Square, so the audience, during the three-day programme, can see and hear musicians from different Mediterranean countries. The festival itself, created in the area between Tuscany and Portugal, strives to promote the Mediterranean identity based on solidarity and the rhythmical exchange of intercultural dialogue in communication with neighbours and the “overseas” of the Lusitanian speaking world.
The Sete Sòis Sete Luas Festival, that is promoted in twenty-five towns in ten different countries via a cultural network – Italy, Portugal, Greece, Spain, France, Morocco, Israel, Brazil, Cape Verde, the Azores and Croatia, includes four hundred artists, who offer more than 150 concerts of contemporary folk music of the countries they come from.
