Night of St. Lovro

Od ove godine, na kalendaru novih turističkih događanja nalazi se i noć svetog Lovre. Djelatnici Turističke zajednice osmislili su je kao večer uz svijeću, nježnu muziku i romantični ugođaj.

From this year on, within the calendar of new tourist events there is an event called “The Night of Saint Lawrence”. Employees of the Tourist Community imagined it as a night with candles, gentle music and romantic atmosphere.
Aiming to make it happens, on 10th of August, entire public electric power switched off and the light of thousands of candles and street torches replaced it. There were several stages for music performances set up along the waterfront.
Three tenor singers Giorgio Pederzoli, Giuliano Ansalone and Salvatore Sanna performed on the central stage in the very centre of the town popular songs like “Come le rose“, „L' amore e una cosa meravigliosa“, „Ti voglio tanto bene“, „Parlami d'amore Mariu“, „Vierno“, „Cuore ingato“.
The guitar duet "Dual Poles" performed Spanish romantic songs on the stage in front of „Rio Bar“ while a man harmony-singing group „Boškarin“ from Hum on the Riviera Square. In the same time, the well-known folk group Batana performed local and Mediterranean songs on the Shipyard Square.
Due to a whole day raining, organizers had to cancel planned watching of planets accompanied with a projection of attractive scenes from the universe performed by Korado Korlević.
It is a known fact that usually on 10th of August meteor streams or shooting stars occur, which people also called after the martyr and saint, Saint Lawrence’s tears.
Nevertheless, woman members of the gymnastic club „Roxanne“gloriously walked across the seafront and around the town’s locations accompanied with gentle sounds of flute performed by Adriana von Runić announcing under candle lights the new tourist event in the town.
