The best jazz bands comprise kindred spirits, but we rarely see family bands that have something more: an intuitive feeling for each other that surpasses words and gestures, actually a sort of inborn telepathy.

The best jazz bands comprise kindred spirits, but we rarely see family bands that have something more: an intuitive feeling for each other that surpasses words and gestures, actually a sort of inborn telepathy. The 3 Cohens ensemble are an example of such rare form of union. Two brothers and a sister from Tel Aviv, Israel, are saxophonist and clarinetist Anat Cohen, trumpet player Avishai Cohen, and soprano saxophonist Yuval Cohen. Their feeling of improvisation is offensively smooth and wonderfully and contagiously warm. In addition to performing on stages across the world, The 3 Cohens recorded three studio albums. Critics describe their performances as rooted in modern post-bop, but also charmingly harmonized and thick with subtlest of nuances. As all three have shared a link with music since their youngest age, the level of relaxedness and intuition is truly high.
