We are proud to announce that the Red Bull Air Race World Championship spectacle will once again be held in Rovinj on May 30-31, 2015. The race in Rovinj is the third race on this year's calendar announced by Red Bull Air Race Salzburg, the event's organizer. Besides in Rovinj, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship will also take place in Chiba (Japan), Budapest (Hungary), Ascot (Great Britain), Spielberg (Austria), Forth Worth (Texas, US) and Las Vegas (Nevada, US), while the race in Abu Dhabi (UEA) already took place in February.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship gathers the world's best pilots who combine speed, precision and skill to operate exceptionally fast and maneuverable planes between the 25 meter high pylon air gates. Last year's winner of the Rovinj race was Hannes Arch from Austria. Numerous fellow nationals and friends cheered for his victory.

We will find out who will be celebrating this year at the end of May.

ROVINJ PROVED A GREAT HOST OF THE CROATIA’S SPORTS AND TOURISM EVENT OF THE YEAR

The competition was covered by three hundred international media organizations, and broadcasted live in fifteen countries

The biggest Croatian sports and tourist event of the year, the air race for the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, was held for the second consecutive year in Rovinj and again gathered a large number of fans of aerial acrobatics from all over the world. Rovinj showed that it can respond to this demanding task and stand shoulder to shoulder with other eight cities / organizers of this spectacle in the sky that was covered by three hundred international news agencies from the stands, VIP lounge and various points and broadcasted "live" in fifteen countries, such as Austria, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Poland and France.

The Flying Sensation Party was held as a prelude to the air show, where the pilots who competed, flying in between air-filled pylons 25 meters high (known as ‘air gates’) at speeds of up to 370 kilometres per hour were presented. On Saturday and Sunday the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj had also prepared outdoor concerts for those who enjoy good music and dancing and a large number of spectators crowded around two stages. The party held in an old Tobacco factory, where the stars of the evening were ‘The Frajle’, has not gone unnoticed. However, Austrian pilot Hannes Arch had the biggest reason for celebration at the Red Bull Air Race. To the delight of his fans, he repeated last year's success and confirmed his status as the fastest Red Bull Air Race pilot in Rovinj. With this victory Arch also gained his first victory in this year's World Championships. After Rovinj’s race (which was also the third race of the championship), fourteen of the world's best pilots continue to the next competition that will be held in the capital of Hungary.
