On the third and the last night of the Kultfest, organized for the fourth time in a row by Ivor Zidarić, Director of Kultfest organization, the audience had an opportunity to hear the Gangbe Brass Band from Africa.

The band was formed back in 1994. It gathered 8 musicians from Cotonou-Benin. Before they got together to form this unusual band blending different traditional styles, the young musicians belonged to different bands, playing mostly jazz music.

Their goal was to promote the original Benin music through a modern jazz expression. Succeeding in their intention, they colored their musical tradition by western melodies, thus combining history and future.

The Rovinj audience was thrilled hearing the hot African rhythms. Black Africa danced and sang in unison with several hundred people gathered at the concert proving that quality music knows no national or geographic boundaries.
