On 5 August, the fifth most influential radio station on the Italian airwaves, Radio Company, brought its best MCs and DJs, not to mention a few of the newest summer stars, before a delighted crowd of twenty thousand souls who transformed the city's main square into a human ant colony

Travelling under the title "Supercontatto" - Super Contact - and due mainly to its exceptional animational concept, this spectacle presented an extremely successful variation of its radio broadcast by performing it live on a stage measuring 30 metres in length, by far the largest stage of its kind ever assembled in the city of Rovinj. Without a doubt, this was the largest musical entertainment event ever to pass through our city. After its stop in Rovinj, this musical circus will return to Italy to perform in Treviso, Trieste, Rimini, Padua (its city of origin), Turin and Rome.

To get the immense crowd warmed-up for the music and entertainment to come, which was delivered around 10 o'clock p.m., Radio Company provided the audience with exceptionally talented MC's, which included Alex Bini, known in these parts for his performances on Kopar television. A collection of Italian singing stars and groups - Paolo Meneguzzi, Xsense, Sally Can Dance - as well as stars of Italian disco - Lucrezia, with her version of Madonna's "You Can Dance", and Carina, one of Company Radio's most popular voices - were skillfully accompanied by the musical ambience created by the maestros controlling the rythmn machines. The loud rhythmn of the Rovinian night got louder and faster, only to be silenced by Rovinj's civic by-laws which outlaw outdoor live music after 1 a.m.. Still, three hours of energetic, high-voltage thumping were sufficient enough so that all who had desired a modern summer musical spectacle and who had planned to come, or just wandered into the musical mayhem by mistake, were more than satisfied. Finally, we must emphasize the exceptionally attractive performance of DJ Marcus, who performed his summer dance hit, accompanied by a robot and the star of the night, Cuban Mark Lopez, who also toured with "Festivalbar" this year.
