„Three days and three nights non-stop“– that was the slogan of the 3rd International Summer Salsa Festival in Rovinj. The top twenty salsa instructors and about six hundred students participated in 65 workshops on 4 skill levels and learned the steps and moves while dancing to the rhythm that conquered the world.
The young and the old, the locals and their guests, dancers and those less skilled expressed their love for Salsa by coming to the town promenade where many of the best dancers and instructors demonstrated dance steps and the beauty of this originally Cuban dance on a large podium.
Latin music left nobody indifferent. Without any uneasiness and in the atmosphere typical of summer evenings the crowd relaxed and danced and now and then it seemed as the whole promenade was dancing to the same rhythm.
Latino sound and dance moves were so powerful that one could simply close eyes and imagine being in Cuba, the favorite home away from home of the famous writer of "The Old Man and The Sea" - Ernest Hemingway. Altogether, an excellent complement to the atmosphere was a concert by Cubismo.
The band showed the people of Rovinj and their guests that they are beyond comparison, at least when it comes to Latin music.
The 3rd Salsa Festival in Rovinj, which is becoming more popular and attracting more visitors every year, was organized by the Los Mamberos Club from Zagreb, and sponsored by Maistra, the Rovinj Tourist Association and the Town of Rovinj.
