Mundial photo-festival: International exhibition Reality and imagination

The 19th International Photo Salon was opened in the Batana Visual Arts Centre with the title ‘Reality and Adaptation’ (Realnost i uprizorenje). The event is the part of the 15th Mundial Photo Festival.

The 19th International Photo Salon was opened in the Batana Visual Arts Centre with the title ‘Reality and Adaptation’ (Realnost i uprizorenje). The event is the part of the 15th Mundial Photo Festival. The Salon will be open to public until the beginning of September, and visitors will be able to see photographs taken by 59 FIAP's masters from 24 countries.
Virgilio Giuricin, Manager of the Batana Visual Art Centre, addressed the visitors during the opening ceremony. He explained that the project is divided into two phases - the first one includes a joint exhibition called ‘Reality and Adaptation’, and the other, organized in cooperation with the FIAP Managing Board, includes the realization of photomonography visitors will be able to see in the autumn of the following year.
Giuricin emphasized that ’This event, regardless of the existing language and culture barriers and differences often constituting the greatest danger to cohabitation, aims to emphasize that there are still people who have the courage to dream of borderless wasteland, and, by preserving their individual identity, they continue to create areas of cultural and intellectual togetherness'.
The opening ceremony of the 19th International Photo Salon, organized under the high sponsorship of the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism and Transport and Development of the Republic of Croatia, Istrian County,Town of Rovinj, Rovinj’s Tourist Association, AUSPICES FIAP and the Croatian Association of Photography, was also attended by Marino Budicin, Deputy Mayor of Rovinj, Serđo Bernich, Deputy County Prefect of Istria and Riccardo Busi, Secretary-General (FIAP), who used this occasion to thank Virgilio Giuricin and the Town of Rovinj, personally and on behalf of many masters of photography, for their efforts as regards the affirmation of photographic art. Let us mention that ‘Reality and Adaptation’ is the first exhibition in history that succeeded in gathering
