Exhibition of photographs by the Belgian author Carlo Diana was opened in the Center of Visual Arts „Batana“. Exhibition titled „Impressions“ was opened by Director of CVA „Batana“ Virgilio Giuricin, and it includes some sixty retrospective photographs taken between late 70tees until the present day.

The photographs have various motifs, and were taken in various areas around the world. The English nobility are smiling from the oldest photographs. Also exhibited were the photographs of always attractive Venice Carnival, photographs depicting Asian children carelessly playing, Indian farmers in the field, African wild animals and some photographs dedicated to landscapes.

The author, who is a math professor, entered the career as a professional photographer after being persuaded by his friends, who, as he said at the exhibition opening , “have forever infected him with the virus of photography“.

- „Photography has contaminated me, I have discovered the magical allure of this plastic art. „Magical box“ made it possible for me to transfer certain objects from their everyday surroundings to new, different and unusual places“, Carlo Diana wrote in catalogue’s introduction.

This Belgian photographer has participated in numerous collective exhibitions world-wide and has received 504 awards for his exhibiting activity. For his very prolific exhibiting activity, the International Federation of Art of Photography FIAP has awarded him honorary title EFIAP/p (Excellent FIAP/ platinum).
