Radojka Šverko, a great artist and, undoubtedly, the first lady of the Croatian music scene, gave a performance in Rovinj. After two hours of the concert and incessant singing, she proved herself yet again an excellent song interpreter.
The great artist, who started her solo career in 1967 on the nearby Island of St. Catherine, began her performance with the recognizable beats of the song Kud plovi ovaj brod, and she finished it with the worldwide famous Bocelli’s hit Partiro.
During the concert Ms. Šverko performed songs from well-known movies, she sang worldwide hits, and some of her best songs from the past Melodies of Istria and the Kvarner. With her far-reaching, deep, and exceptionally colored voice, Ms. Radojka Šverko thrilled the audience performing gospel songs, and Bach’s beautiful Ave Maria. The younger audience enjoyed her interpretations of The Beatles, the rock & roll diva Tina Turner, Lisa Minelli, and Barbra Straisand.
