Fully packed central town square and the waterfront, at which almost five thousand visitors were signing and dancing to the rhythm of music at the concert by Oliver Dragojević, was the pinnacle of a three-day sports-entertainment events of the newly inaugurated manifestation „Popolana“.
The selection of the best and the most popular Croatian popular music singer, who has had a long and successful career, was the gift from the Tourist Board to all competition’s participants and numerous guests to Rovinj, but also to those who came from various parts of Istria to see and hear “the old sea-dog“. For full two and a half hours, accompanied by his Split Band „Dupini“ (dolphins), Oliver was performing songs of which many are well known hits, and some are anthological like „Oprosti mi, pape“ or „Galeb i ja“, which are a result of a long cooperation between the this romantic from Split and composer Zdenko Runjić.
Local “Party band” performed before the legendary Croatian singer, and warmed up numerous audience making them dance, thus contributing to a great atmosphere and scanning „Oli, Oli“.
