The Boban and Marko Marković Orchestra, the best Romani orchestra from the south of Serbia and one of the best brass ensembles in the Balkans, performed live on the Monte summer stage in Rovinj.

The concert attracted a large turnout and the orchestra offered excellent performances of folk and Romani songs, influenced by jazz, funk and traditional Jewish music.

The Boban and Marko Marković Orchestra consists of 12 members. Their virtuosic performance and great visual appearance leaves nobody indifferent.

The concert overwhelmed the citizens of the town of St.Euphemia and many guests who came to see and hear this musical spectacle, just like the audience in other parts of the world. Several hundred visitors surrendered to dance after the first few accords and nobody stayed in seat after only few moments.

The audience was singing with Boban, the leading vocal, as he performed various widely known songs, famous oldies and well-known Romani songs.

The evening ended with a long encore in the early morning hours of the next day.

The Boban and Marko Marković Orchestra has won numerous awards and gives more then 130 concerts every year throughout the world. In addition to touring, they write music and audience knows them best as the performers and authors of most of the music from Emir Kusturica’s Underground and Arizona Dream movies.

Rovinj concert was a real summer treat, because it followed after the orchestra’s recent performance at the famous Glastonbury Festival in England and it was scheduled just before its mini tours throughout Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
