The central event was held in the principal town square – the Marshal Tito Square, which – instantly – during the initial hot, energetic beats – turned into a giant dance podium, while the elevated stage was host to the best of the best world dancers of salsa, DJs and musicians. Simultaneously, a sight for sore eyes and ears was also the performance of all salsa buffs, which – on the very last day of the festival – was held at the pool complex of the neighbouring island of St Andrija next to Rovinj.

The Summer Salsa Festival is, it should be noted, of international character and represents the crown of the development of salsa scene in Croatia, which is traditionally held in Rovinj ever since 2005. As a unique and sole dance event of the kind in the country, this year it attracted several thousand of home but also foreign enthusiasts of the dance type.
The festival, during which the whole of Rovinj dances, is jointly organised by the company Salsa Adria Produkcija and the dance club “Los Mamberos” composed of a group of salsa enthusiasts and buffs. Principal festival partners are the Town of Rovinj Tourist Board, the Town of Rovinj and the hotel establishment Maistra.
