The last of many attractive tourist events organised all year long by the tourism and catering company Maistra and the town’s Tourist Board included a gastronomic offer of autumn fruits.

Forest meet, i.e. mushrooms, was the main ingredient of the autumn culinary menu, offered at a promotional price. Under the culinary leadership of Priska Thurning, chef at the hotel Adriatic, one could taste excellent home batter-dumplings with three types of mushrooms - boletus, button and oyster mushrooms.

The sauce that gave the dish a special taste was made of white wine, garlic, onion, parsley and cooking cream. Along with ten kilograms of flour used for batter-dumplings, twelve kilograms of mushrooms were used for this dish.

Apart from batter-dumplings with forest fruits and a glass of good wine, very popular were risotto with button mushrooms, and apple strudel and homemade fritters for dessert.

Besides from the palate, the Tourist Board and Maistra’s employees took care of the atmosphere, too. Batana and Polzer folk bands took turns on the stage, making the bravest among the numerous guests dance waltz and polka. It should be pointed out that the event Tastes of autumn in Rovinj was right on target for numerous domestic guests who decided to spend the weekend in the sign of the St. Martin’s Feast in the town of St. Eufemia. The participants at the 2nd International Choir Music Festival Rovinj should be counted in, since the festival attracted a significant number of domestic and foreign music experts, mostly conductors and choir members.
