Easter holidays in Rovinj

A rich cultural and entertainment program has been prepared for the Easter holidays in Rovinj, as an overture to the peak tourist season.
The Rovinj-Rovigno City Museum will reopen its doors from 14 April to May 3, hosting exhibitions Museum on the Foundations of the City: Results of Archaeological Research and Case Study: Rovinj! Museum Holdings as the Raison d'Être of a Museum. The exhibitions opened in September last year and are reopening for guests during the pre-holiday period. The exhibitions will be on view every day, from Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while admission is free.
On Thursday and Friday, 16 and 17 April, the first Natura Fest of the year will be held on Obala Pina Budicina. The fair brings together creative people, associations, and craft businesses in a joint display of diverse crafts and knowledge that show in synergy a sustainable way of living in harmony with nature. Everything an individual needs to live in a natural, high-quality, and environmentally friendly way will be presented in one place: natural cosmetics and soaps, organic candles, decorations, and souvenirs made of wood, cement, plaster, and glass, framed pressed flowers, ceramic decorations, souvenirs, and dishes, clothing and bags made of quality cotton and recycled cotton materials, jewelry.
If you want to get to know the cultural and historical sites of Rovinj, accompanied by a local guide, join the Feel the breeze of Rovinj tour. You will meet your guide and start the tour in front of the Tourist Board of Rovinj-Rovigno, at Trg na mostu 2. The 2-hour tour will take you on a walk through the old town streets, with a short break at Rovinj’s most interesting sites: Garibaldi Street, a family cobbler shop in Zdenac Street, Bregovita Street, the belvedere, the Church of St. Euphemia, including a tour of the church, Grisia Street, Porečka Street, Garzotto Street, Veli trg Square, Vrata pod zidom Street, the harbour, M. Tito Square, the town clock, the Batana Eco-museum. During the tour, in the old town street of Casale, participants will be greeted by a musical program with musicians who will perform old traditional Rovinj tunes of bitinada and aria da nuoto. In Spàcio Matika, the local version of a tavern or a wine cellar, participants will be able to taste simple fish dishes, such as salted anchovies and the like. The tour also includes a visit to the Church of St. Francis of Assisi and the monastery collection, which houses a large number of liturgical objects and valuable works of art and sculpture.
On Sunday, for Easter, a special program will take place on Rovinj’s M. Tito Square. The morning part of the program, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be complemented by the musical notes of Sugar Notes and Pink Margarita, and a tasting menu – salted anchovies, Easter bread and sweet fritters, prepared jointly by the Tourist Board and the Association-Associazione “Kuća o batana – Casa della batana”, will be shared with all visitors free of charge, with the intention of showcasing Rovinj’s culinary traditions. During the same period, Kittinaskrinjica will entertain the youngest guests with face painting. In the afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Glazbeni Laboratorij Rovinj will have its final concert, so as to share its newly acquired knowledge with all lovers of good music.
