Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations

American chef and host of the popular Travel Channel’s series Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations with 120 million viewers worldwide in October last year traveled to Croatia to film the Croatian Coast episode. The episode starts with images of war that took place during the 90ies, the only fact Bourdain knew about Croatia before visiting. His comment about the culinary adventure on the Croatian coast was: ‘Croatia is the next big thing. This is world-class food, world-class cheese, and world-class wine’. His host and guide in Croatia was Croatian chef Mate Janković, one of the judges on the popular TV show MasterChef.

His journey down the Croatian coast started in Rovinj where Janković showed him around town. Fisherman Emil Sošić took them to Lim Channel where they enjoyed oysters and mussels. Bourdain describes Lim Channel as ‘the perfect balance of temperature, salinity and clean sea’. After Rovinj, Bourdain and Janković visited Motovun, Banjole, Zadar, Pag, Skrad, and the Kornati Islands where the last scenes were taken.
