In 2015 Rovinj achieved record-breaking results

In 2015 the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj-Rovigno recorded a total of 522.994 arrivals, which is an increase of 9% compared to the previous year, and 3.266.872 overnight stays which is an increase of 4% as compared to 2014.

The biggest number of overnight stays were realized in the markets of Germany (1.065.644, 33% share, an increase of 4%), Austria (465.765, 14% share, an increase of 10%), Italy (363.687, 11% share, an increase of 7%), the Netherlands (252.473 , 8% share, a decrease of 10%), Slovenia (145.149, 4% share, an increase of 12%), domestic market of Croatia (123.164, 4% share, an increase of 18%), Great Britain (113.662, 3% share, a decrease of 13%).

According to the type of accommodation, the largest number of overnight stays were recorded in campsites (1.592.994, 49% share, same level as the previous year), followed by private accommodation – the provision of hospitality and catering services in a household (607.513, 18% share, an increase of 10%), hotels (599.714, 18% share, an increase of 3%), and tourist resorts (311.758, 10% share, an increase of 12%). In the private accommodation – legal entities and tradesmen registered 87.975 overnight stays with a share of 3% and increase of 11%. The houses and apartments (non-commercial tourist turnover) registered 62.416 overnight stays with a share of 2% and an increase of 1% compared with the previous year.

According to the age distribution, in 2015 most tourists were aged from 41 to 50, with an increase of 2% compared with the previous year. The age group 51 to 60 is in the second place with an increase of 8%, followed by the age group over 60 with an increase of 7%, tourists from 31 to 40 years old with a 5% increase, tourists from 0 to 12 years old with a 3% increase, tourists from 19 and 30 years old with a decrease of 2%, while the age group from 13 to 18 recorded the same level of overnight stays as the previous year.
