In 2018, Rovinj made a total of 4,059,187 overnight stays, which is an increase of five percent compared to last year and 703,269 arrivals (a ten percent increase).

Since the beginning of the year, the largest number of guests were from Germany (a 30 percent participation) with an increase of one percent compared to last year, followed by Austria (a 15 percent participation) with a six percent increase, Italy (a 10 percent participation) which is the same level as this time last year, the Netherlands with a seven percent participation and a 10 percent increase, Croatia (a five percent participation) with a 21 percent increase and Slovenia (a five percent participation) with a 18 percent increase from last year.

Most of the overnight stays were made in campsites (a 46 percent participation) with a three percent increase, followed by hotels and tourist resorts (a 27 percent participation) with a nine percent increase and private accommodation (a 20 percent participation), with a six percent increase.

It should be noted that a positive difference in the number of overnight stays was recorded in the pre- and post- season. In the first six months there were 14 percent more overnight stays compared to last year, and from September to the end of the year nine percent more overnight stays were recorded. In July and August, the same number of overnight stays was recorded as in the previous year.

The aforementioned tourist turnover was realized with a total capacity of 37,380 beds, without the capacity of the former Hotel Park, where the construction of the new luxurious Grand Park Hotel is being completed and the ACI Marina, which is also being reconstructed. These two major investments, of which the construction of the Grand Park Hotel has been declared ‘strategic’ at the national level, will be completed by the end of March 2019.
