Tourist traffic is almost at the level of 2019 and financial results are 24 percent better

In Croatia, during the first six months of 2022, there were 5.7 million arrivals and 24.7 million overnight stays, i.e., 120 percent more arrivals and 107 percent more overnight stays than in the same period last year. At the same time, foreign tourists accounted for 21.4 million overnight stays, while domestic tourists accounted for 3.3 million overnight stays. Compared to 2019, 83 percent of arrivals and 94 percent of overnight stays during the same period in 2019 were realized. This is the first data from the eVisitor system, consisting of tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial establishments and sailing charters (eCrew system).
The highest number of overnight stays was realized in Istria (7.9 million), Split-Dalmatia County (4.2 million) and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (4.2 million). This is followed by Zadar County (2.8 million overnight stays), Dubrovnik-Neretva County (2 million) and Šibenik-Knin County (1.2 million). Looking at the results of specific destinations, the most overnight stays since the beginning of the year were achieved in Rovinj (1.3 million), Dubrovnik (1.2 million), Poreč (1.1 million) and Zagreb (909,000).
Looking at the markets, since the beginning of the year, the largest number of overnight stays was realized by foreign guests from Germany (6.1 million), Austria (2.4 million), Slovenia (2.3 million), Poland (1.3 million), the United Kingdom (1.1 million) and the Czech Republic (1.1 million). When considering the type of accommodation, the most overnight stays were in hotels (7.5 million), private accommodations (7.4 million) and campsites (5.1 million).

June 2022 almost at the level of June 2019
During June this year, 2.8 million arrivals and 14.7 million overnight stays were achieved, i.e., 81 percent more arrivals and 84 percent more overnight stays than in June 2021. Compared to June 2019, 89 percent of arrivals and 98 percent of overnight stays during the same period in 2019 were realized.
Among the foreign tourists in Croatia, the most overnight stays were realized by guests from Germany (4.4 million), Austria (1.4 million), Slovenia (1.3 million) and Poland (1 million). The most tourist overnight stays were realized in Istria (4.8 million), Primorje-Gorski Kotar (2.6 million) and Split-Dalmatia County (2.6 million), while the most popular destinations were Rovinj with 738,000 overnight stays, Poreč (560,000) and Dubrovnik (530,000).

In the first half of 2022, invoices worth HRK 12 billion and 883 million were fiscalized in the tourism industry
According to the data of the Tax Administration, in the first six months of this year, in the activities related to the provision of accommodation services, preparation and serving of food and beverages, as well as travel agencies and travel organizers (tour operators), a total of invoices worth 12 billion and 883 million kunas was fiscalized, i.e., 129 percent more than in the same period last year.
Compared to 2019, in the first six months of 2022, invoices with a value 24 percent higher than in the same period of 2019 were fiscalized. In June 2022, invoices worth HRK 4 billion and 713 million were fiscalized in the same activities, i.e., 39 percent more than in June 2019.
