Rovinj records three millionth tourist overnight stay

Today, August 17, Rovinj was the first in Croatia to reach three million overnight stays, 4 days earlier than in 2019. Compared to 2019, from the beginning of the year to the present day, the number of overnight stays has increased by five percent, and compared to the same period in 2021, by 33 percent.

The largest number of overnight stays in that period was made by tourists from Germany (33 percent), Austria (15 percent), the Netherlands and Italy (seven percent each), and domestic tourists (six percent).

Most overnight stays were in campsites (45 percent), private accommodation (21 percent), hotels (19 percent) and tourist resorts (10 percent).
Currently, 38,000 guests are staying in our destination, most of them coming from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

By the end of the year, a three percent higher number of overnight stays is expected compared to the record year 2019, i.e. more than four million overnight stays.
