On Sunday, 27 November 2022, at 16:00, the first candle was lit on the Advent wreath surrounding the fountain in Tito Square, with a prayer of the Rovinj parish priest, Msgr. Vilim Grpac, guardian of the Franciscan monastery Fr. Matija Koren and parish vicar Zoran Županović, and under the baton of Ronald Braus.
The event was attended by numerous citizens and guests, as well as children of all ages, the mayor of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno, Marko Paliaga, and many other guests.

The musical atmosphere was provided by the Rubino Chamber Choir and KUD-SAC Marco Garbin and the Mini Cantanti section of the Rovinj Comunità degli Italiani - the Community of Italians 'Pino Budicin' Rovinj-Rovigno. The beginning of Rovinj's Advent was sweetened by the delicacies prepared by the members of the Association 'Kuća o batani – Casa della batana'.
Numerous decorations with the batana motif, this year's symbol of Rovinj decorations, shone on the main town square, Trg na lokvi, Lungomare Plaza and in the port of Andana, where six decorated batanas were temporarily anchored.

In front of the church of St. Euphemia, a life-size Christmas nativity scene with twenty figurines was installed, the work of the Rovinj Christian Community headed by art professor mag. Toni Žufić and his students and other Rovinj volunteers.
