2020 Tourist Board Membership Fee Calculation

06.08.2020

From Monday, August 3, 2020 calculation of the tourist board membership fee for 2020 payable by the providers of hospitality and catering services in households and on family farms will be visible in the eVisitor system, in accordance with the new Tourist Board Membership Fee Act (OG 52/19), Ordinance on Annual Lump Sum Membership Fee Payment by the Providers of Hospitality Services in Households and on Family Farms and Tourist Board Membership Fee Payment Forms (OG 14/20) and its amended version (OG 88/20).

Let us remind you that on 1 January, 2020 a new model of calculation of the tourist board membership fee for the providers of hospitality services in households and on family farms came into effect.

The calculation of the fee for 2020 is based on the maximum number of beds or accommodation units in 2019. The maximum number of beds or accommodation units is established by an analysis of every day in 2019 and the number used to calculate the fee is the one on which the service provider had the most occupied beds or accommodation units.

  • Example 1 If the service provider started the year with 8 beds and cancelled two beds in June, the maximum number of beds in 2019 will be 8 and that number will be used for calculating the membership fee payable to the tourist board.  The maximum number of beds is established per service provider (according to PIN) and the town/municipality i.e. the tourist board.
  • Example 2 If the service provider has 2 apartments (4 beds in each) at two addresses, both in the same tourism area, the maximum number of beds is 8 and the membership fee payment is made to one IBAN of the local tourist board.
  • Example 3 If the service provider has 2 apartments (4 beds in each) at two different addresses in two different tourism areas, the maximum number of beds is two times four. Accordingly, membership fee is paid to two separate accounts, i.e. to each tourist board separately.

Under the Tourist Board Membership Fee Act the Tax Administration is in charge of recording, determining and collecting membership fees from legal and natural persons and accordingly has provided the data on assessed liabilities to the Croatian National Tourist Board for the purpose of their implementation in the eVisitor system.

Further, in accordance with the Ordinance on the eVisitor System, based on the data provided by the Tax Administration and via the eVisitor system, the obligors of the lump-sum tourist board membership fee will be notified of their payment obligation and the amount owed.

Please note that the calculation is visible to the obligors only and the calculation data are not visible to tourist boards. However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

In keeping with the above, an example of a notification relating to the membership fee calculation on the link is visible only to the obligors and can be seen on the first page after you log on to the evisitor system.
