Small fair of antiques and ancient crafts
Every Thursday at Valdibora square
Every Thursday, Valdibora square becomes a meeting place for lovers of antiques, antiquarians, collectors, artists, real art connoisseurs and those who would like to be.
The small antiques and old crafts fair, which is traditionally held every Thursday on Valdibora Square and organized by the Open University of the City of Rovinj, will offer something special this week as well. On Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 8 a.m., visitors will have the opportunity to learn about one of the oldest crafts – hand weaving on a loom.
Biserka Vranić, an excellent weaver from Pula who has been weaving since her youth, will demonstrate her skills. Under the Biba weaving brand, she makes hand-woven scarves from 100% cotton thread, known for their softness and playful colors. In addition, Biserka also creates decorative woven fabrics in which she skillfully integrates natural materials such as ears of corn, potpourri, shells and twine, or recycles interesting details that can be woven into the fabric. During the demonstration, visitors will be able to see the entire process of creating fabric on a floor loom – from setting the warp to creating patterns by interlacing threads on shuttles. It will be a unique opportunity to experience up close how patience, skill and creativity create unique textile items.
The small antiques and old crafts fair on Valdibora Square this Thursday will again be a place where tradition comes to life before the eyes of visitors – don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of hand weaving and ancient skills.
