According to the experienced skipper and a true sea wolf, Silvio Brunelli, on the way from the Rovinj aquatorium towards the port in Pesaro sirocco was blowing at 12 to 25 knots, which allowed the crews a fast ride and ultimately a fast regatta. However, on their way back to Rovinj, the wind repeatedly changed its course, forcing the crews to demonstrate skill, preparedness and speed.
The crews of twelve sailboats started the first lap from Rovinj led by steersmen Damir Peteh, Erto Fabris, Dario Činić, Riccardo Šetić, Marko Srećec, Franc Kos, Jure Iskra and Marko Franinović, all members of Rovinj’s Maestrall Ronhill Sailing Club, as well as Boris Radolović (Uljanik Plovidba) from Pula, Tomo Gomerčić (Zagreb), Sandrino Renzo (Venice) and Marizio Martini (Trieste). The crew of the La Fenice - Grad Rovinj, commanded by Damir Peteh, included Rovinj Mayor Giovanni Sponza, Deputy President of the City Council Silvio Brunelli, Istria County Deputy Prefect Valerio Drandić, and others.
At the port in Pesaro, Rovinj sailors organized a rich feast of Istrian delicacies, and worthily presented the beauties of Rovinj with the help of the promotional material provided by the Rovinj Tourist Board. This year as well, Rovinj Basketball Club veterans organized a sports program and played a friendly game with their Italian peers at the main stadium in Pesaro.
The main topics of the conversation between the mayors of two friend towns connected by the Adriatic Sea, Rovinj and Pesaro, were the upcoming events and the organization of the 25th Jubilee Rovinj–Pesaro–Rovinj Sailing Regatta, an international regatta organized by Rovinj’s Maestrall Ronhill Sailing Club and Lega Navale Italiana di Pesaro for more than two decades now.
