Always innovative and different, the members of the folk group „Batana“ pleasantly surprised their fans this season as well.
With their song full of Mediterranean flavor, regardless of whether it is Dalmatian, Neapolitan or Greek and characteristic clothing, they became the musical trade mark of Rovinj, and sort of cultural ambassadors when touring and doing promotions outside their town. The fact that they don’t leave anything to chance is seen from group’s name - „Batana“, taken from the same name of the fishing boat typical of Rovinj, its tradition and way of life.
Mid June, the group members namely Riccardo Bosazzi, Antonella, Giorgio and Antonio Sugar and Giuseppe Bartoli held the first of the announced series of evening concerts on cliff Balota. They had just discovered it last year and with their voices, mandolins and guitars have accentuated all the beauty of this mythical cliff, which is even prettier at night with romantic candlelight and underwater reflectors. In such ambiance, Rovinj folk group „Batana“, promoting the original canto on autochthon dialect of Rovinj Italians, sounded more impressive and also more original and intimate for many guests of Rovinj.
Once a week during entire summer, folk group „Batana“ will be holding evening concerts on cliff Balota.
