For the seventh year in a row, the Tourist Association of Rovinj, for the forthcoming Easter holiday, is encouraging its citizens to enrich and decorate their gardens and balconies by planting seasonal flowers and perennials that it gives out. With this giving out, says Tourist Association director, Odete Sapač, a yearly flower tradition continues – the only one on the peninsula and organised by Tourist Association of Rovinj, which uses this beautiful way to wish its citizens a happy Easter and a successful upcoming tourist season.
As expected, the last giving out of flowers sparked a great interest by citizens. Despite rain, people waited for their flower more than an hour, while half as much time was needed for giving out 2,000 plants. Perennials and seasonal flowers were simply gone – whether they were pansies, geraniums, candytufts, lavenders, or rosemaries, and so many were left without the wanted gift, despite the number of plants. Nevertheless, at the Tourist Association they are saying that there will be a “make up exam” on April 11. On that date, in front of the city tourist office at 10 AM, there will be a free giving out of small trees. Citizens, as well as tourists, will have an opportunity to choose their small tree among jujube, fig, currant, gooseberry, blueberry and blackberry.
