Soprano singer Angelo Manzotti and his rendition of Farinelli’s arias opened the Baroque Music Festival Rovinj 2007 which is taking place under the title «Following the Trails of Venice - Orme della Serenissima».

The festival is organized for the third year in a row by Professor Domagoj Terzić, a famous Rovinj's musician honoring the magical world of music composed by old masters.

The first of eight concerts that took place at the Church of St. Francis was sold out and musicians and soprano singer’s interpretations awarded ovations. Angelo Manzotti won special commendations due to the beauty of a boy's voice in a man's body that overwhelmed the audience.

Namely, soprano singer Manzotti and the Venetian orchestra « I musici Veneti», lead by Maestro Claudio Gasparoni took the audience back to the time of soprano castrato singers and the spirit of the time when Farinelli had left an inerasable trace.

Soprano singer Manzotti, also known as the new Farinelli, uses a unique singing technique which separates him from today's contra tenors and which, according to music critic, enables him to revive the singing style of castrato singers and their repertoire with enviable easiness and credibility.

The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the music of Händel, Tartini, Hasse and Vivaldi.
