Easter in Rovinj

According to its tradition, the tourist town of Rovinj celebrated this year’s Easter holidays with lots of singing, dancing and gourmet delicacies as well. The three-day attractive event was opened by the members of the Roxanne Gymnastics Club who showed their amazing talent and skills performing at the main square in front of numerous spectators. Besides thrilling the audience with their dance moves and charming choreographies, the hundred and fifty participants in the dance performance entitled Easter – Then and Now proved that imagination truly has no limits. With the help of the members of the Retired People’s Club, they mastered the art of dyeing eggs the old-fashioned way. Afterwards, they distributed the eggs to the passers-by in a friendly, hospitable manner. Besides leaving behind a hundred eggs dyed with onion skins and herbs, they also left behind a gigantic egg created using the paper mache technique.

In addition to the authentic delicacies provided daily by the House of Batana, the passers-by had the opportunity to try the thirty-meter-long cake prepared by the students of the Eugen Kumičić Vocational School under the mentorship of Anton Čehić and Sandra Živolić, which was as impressive as always. To make the cake, which fascinated many by its length and taste, the students needed lots of ingredients – 400 eggs, 12 kg walnuts, 80 kg apples and 20 kg cheese, cherries and other wild fruit.

The Easter event also included a musical part featuring two amazing duos, namely Davor & Gracijan Terzić and Eligio & Boris, who gave a great vocal and instrumental performance as well as created a great atmosphere. The marching Rovinj Brass Band woke up the sleepy town on Easter morning, while the Music (K)night and the Summertime Duo feat. Tasha and Stand By ensured great rhythm and vibe with their performances during the event. Finally, on Easter Monday, the Batana Eco Museum presented its new 3D library.
